Duckwrth’s “F*ckboy” era, live in LA

On April 25, the artist Duckwrth took the stage at the Echoplex in LAfor All American Freakshow, a wildly electric performance of his new album All American F*ckboy. He was joined by Sherwyn, King Isis and Blk Odyssy, who performed before or alongside him.

Duckwrth’s fan base spans teens to thirtysomethings, and the energy in the room was unified, with every person screaming, jumping, and singing like they belonged there. When the lights dimmed and he stepped onto the stage, the room was muted, and you could hear the breathing of the people next to you. He performed with “Toxic Romantic,” a song that dives into suspicion, mistrust and guilt wrapped in a beat that makes your body shake. The room transformed and people began to jump and bark to the rhythm, screaming the lyrics and turning the people into a wave of movement. Duckwrth’s stage presence charged the crowd with pulsing music that vibrates in your chest.

This wasn’t just a concert — it felt like a confessional. All American Fckboy* is Duckwrth’s reflection on his “f*ckboy” past: messy relationships, emotional immaturity and growth through it all. His setlist captured that evolution. Songs like “Escapist,” “Fell Off the Earth,” “LA Traffic,” “Grey Scale” and “Ken Doll” painted snapshots of regret and reinvention. Later came “June 1st,” “Permanent Vacation,” “I’m Stressed,” “Pitbull” featuring IDK, “I’m Really Changing” featuring Sherwyn, and finally, the explosive “Hurricane J.I.M.”

Duckwrth ended the night with Hurricane J.I.M. and entered the crowd for a mosh pit, leaving fans breathless and exhilarated. The temperature of the crowd was at its max when they saw Duckwrth stepping down from his stage and taking a dip into the crowd. After the mosh pit he briefly disappeared backstage. Fans chanted and begged for one more song, and he listened. He returned to perform “Hoe Phase,” a fitting finale that wrapped up the night with sweat and energy.
